Pstruží lies on the eastern slope of Ondřejník. It stands on the Moravian side of the Ostravice River. The river once formed the boundary between Moravia and Silesia.
Pstruží is first mentioned in writing in 1581 in the records of the Hukvaldy estate. In 1834, Berlin resident Bedřich Leese founded an enamel works by the Ondřejnice stream; it operated until 1888. Opálená Ski Area lies on the slope of Ondřejník in Pstruží, and a restaurant and café stand beside the piste. The municipality-run Pstruží Primary and Nursery School has five years of primary education and a tradition dating back to 1898; a small chapel stands beside the school between two lime trees.
