Krásná lies in the valley of the Mohelnice stream below Lysá hora. The municipality had 698 residents in 2025.

The first written record of the municipality dates to 1639. The summit of Lysá hora, the highest mountain in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, lies within its territory. The Emil Zátopek – Maraton mountain hut stands south of and below the summit; it opened in 2016 on the site of Slezská chata. Mountain Hotel Visalaje, with a restaurant, is in the Visalaje area of the Beskids; the municipality also contains the Mohelnický and Tošanovský waterfalls and the Lysá hora, Malenovický kotel and Travný nature reserves.
