Komorní Lhotka lies in the foothills of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. It is about 10 km west of Třinec and 13 km east of Frýdek-Místek. Part of the village is a rural conservation area, and the municipality has had a multi-purpose sports hall since 2005.

The village has an Evangelical church dating from 1783 and a Roman Catholic Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus dating from 1886. The 1936 Toleration Memorial stands on the western slope of Godula above the village. Koliba, a guesthouse and restaurant, stands at the foot of Mount Prašivá.
